St. Mark’s Summer Music Camps

Mark your calendars and get ready for some fun! St. Mark’s is excited to have Puppet and Drama Camp this summer!

Sacred Puppet Camp

Monday to Friday June 17-21,  2024 | 9:30 – 11:30 AM
Age 4-Grade 3

Fly with the dove from Noah’s ark, swim with the whale that swallowed Jonah, roar along with the lions that met Daniel, and join many more animal adventures in this entertaining collection of Bible stories. Come join us as we make puppets each day and present a puppet show on Friday at 11:00 a.m.

  • Children will make and use a variety of puppets to tell the stories of Jesus, play fun games and enjoy a snack each day.
  • Friends are welcome and do not need to attend St. Mark’s.
  • Older students are invited to assist with the camps during the week (see Student Apprentice Opportunities below). All staff and children’s ministry volunteers will have the required background checks.
  • Cost is $20 – with scholarships available.
  • Informal performance will be Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Sacred Drama Camp

Monday to Friday June 17-21,  2024 | 12:00 – 2:30 PM
Grades 1-4

This construction-themed production brings to life the parable of the wise man and teaches important lessons about the joys and challenges of building faith through the story of friends who set out to build a fort. The show will be presented on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

  • Friends are welcome and do not need to attend St. Mark’s.
  • Older students are invited to assist with the camps during the week (see Student Apprentice Opportunities below). All staff and children’s ministry volunteers will have the required background checks.
  • Cost is $20 – with scholarships available.
  • There will be a drama camp performance at 2 p.m. on Friday, and a medley of songs will be performed on Sunday, at the 11 a.m. service.

St. Mark's Waiver & Release Form

WHEREAS, ST. MARK’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CARMEL, INDIANA, INCORPORATED extends to its members and the community services referred to as “St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Carmel, Indiana, Children's Camps (including St. Mark's Summer Music Camps, Club 56 Mission Camp, and St. Mark's VBS) ("hereinafter referred to as “St. Mark's Camps"); and

WHEREAS, ST. MARK’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CARMEL, INDIANA, INCORPORATED cannot administer medication, with the exception of the emergency administration of Benadryl or an EPI-PEN, or guarantee the environment to be free of all food or food substances to which children attending St. Mark's Camps may be allergic; and

WHEREAS, a child attending St. Mark's Camps may have a pre-existing condition or a food or food-related allergy that may or may not have been disclosed at the time of the registration of the child for St. Mark's Camps.

THEREFORE, the parties to this Waiver and Release mutually agree as follows:

1. ST. MARK’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CARMEL, INDIANA, INCORPORATED, its employees, volunteers, and other personnel, shall not be charged with the responsibility of administering any type of medication, with the exception of the emergency administration of Benadryl or an EPI-PEN as a result of an allergic reaction, to any child attending St. Mark's Camps, whether prescription medication or not. The undersigned parent(s) hereby release and forever discharge ST. MARK’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF CARMEL, INDIANA, INCORPORATED and its personnel from any and all liability, or from any claims, demands, damages, actions, causes of action, or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever, known or unknown, which may be brought as a result of exposure of their child to any food or food-related agent of any nature to which the child may be allergic, during attendance at St. Mark's Camps.

2. The undersigned acknowledges that in the event their child should suffer from any food or food-related allergy, and they elect to allow their child to remain at St. Mark's Camps, the release stated above would specifically apply to each parent and to their child.

3. The undersigned acknowledges that they have completely read and fully understand the contents of this Waiver and Release and voluntarily accept and approve of its contents for the purpose of their child’s continued attendance at St. Mark's Camps.

Music Camp Student Apprentice Opportunities

Sacred Puppet and Drama Camps volunteer positions

Students who have completed grade 5 – 12 are eligible to volunteer to help during both Puppet and Drama camps.

Responsibilities:  Help with games, songs, drama, and refreshments and serve as a role models for younger campers.

Benefits:  Develop leadership skills, receive a letter that certifies volunteer hours, and have fun while serving!
