Adult Education and Small Groups

I am from a small town, Arcanum, OH, whereby upbringing included worship, a fun youth group, VBS, church camps and many mission trips through Faith United Methodist Church. Terry and I were married After college we moved to Columbus, IN, and began volunteering with the youth group at Asbury UMC, then was hired as Youth Group Director. We have 2 daughters, Sarah & Anna, who are married and raising our 3 grandchildren. I am a teacher – I taught 4th grade in Columbus. Terry and I moved up here in 2003. Youth alums invited us to St. Mark’s and we immediately felt welcomed and at home here. I am honored to be on staff here since 2006. The Bible studies, Grow Groups and community around Jesus Christ excite and inspire me to share Christ’s hope with others through study and service!

Why work for St. Mark’s UMC?

Because there are so many faith questions, Bible lessons, and people to meet and serve. The warmth and friendliness of St. Mark’s is inspiring.

What is your most memorable moment to-date at St. Mark’s UMC?

The “Pack Away Hunger” event is a wonderful hands-on ministry where all ages come together and help provide meals. Having our grandkids work beside us is a bonus!

What most excites you about the future of St. Mark’s UMC?

The Holy Spirit is a work within our congregation. More people are serving others, building community around Jesus Christ, and sharing Christ’s love – and there is always more to do!
