Where Mission is a Way of Life

As we depart from the Easter season, we don’t part with the Easter question: What does Jesus’ resurrection mean for us and the world? In the coming weeks and months, we hope to discover answers with practical implications—answers that will have a direct impact on our community.

We look for those answers in the season of Pentecost, the time of year when we reflect on the impact God’s Spirit had on the first followers of Jesus. In The Current, we’ll dive into The Acts of the Apostles to share the struggles and triumphs of those early followers. We’ll look at how the Holy Spirit changed unremarkable men and women into a fierce, fire-starting force for God’s Kingdom. We encourage you to join us as we try to catch a bit of that fire.

One more thing! We’re also really excited for PraiseUnplugged  (which we’ve called PraiseFest in the past.) On June 9, we’re asking you to walk, bike or carpool to an old school, outdoor worship event. With mason jars in hand and minimal production, we’re going to experience old hymns like “I’ll Fly Away” and “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder.” Needless to say, it’s going to be a blast.

Enjoy the sunshine.

You're invited to join us for Going Deeper, a more academic environment to explore the scriptures discussed in The Current. It it a fruitful and challenging space to experience God together. Please feel free to join us every other Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the lower level. Upcoming dates are May 21, June 4 & 18.

We hope you will join us.
