Are you looking for a way to get involved with this new event? A lot of volunteers are needed! Listed below are numerous ways for you to participate in this outreach to our community.

Ways to help prior to the event:
  Lend a Costume - Lend a Holy Walk Villager costume to Walk in His Path
   Construction Group - Help to construct the Marketplace stores, the Crucifixion scene, the entrance to Jerusalem and the Tomb scene
  Props - Help gather and make props for the event. Instructions and a list of needs is available.
  Costumes - Gather costumes for the actors, as well as assure that all characters have a costume to wear. Assist actors with the best way to wear the costume. Clean and return costumes borrowed from church and members.
  Set-Up - Help each area set up during the week before and the day of the Walk. Instructions and lists are available.
  Interior Prep - Help with blacking out windows in designated areas of the church. Cover floors to represent the path that Jesus walked.
  Lighting and Sounds - Provide lighting and sound effects for the Crucifixion scene and any other area that needs expertise in lighting

 

Ways to help during the event:
   Missions Group - Collect and distribute mission donations collected at the event
   Music Group - Provide solemn music during the Crucifixion scene (stringed instruments)
   Parking and Transportation - Guide visitors to parking spots in our lot. Help shuttle cast members and other helpers to the event.
   Fellowship Group - Serve light snacks and beverages to our guests following the Walk. Solicit donations of food from church members.
   Welcome Room Group - Welcome guests and organize groups to walk through the event. Instructions are available.
   Photography - Capture the event on film. Create a media presentation for future viewing
  Characters
Play a character from biblical times - some with minor speaking parts and other with no speaking parts. Check below if you know which part you'd like to portray:
   For adults and older teens:
   Narrators

"Eye witnesses" who tell the story of Jesus' last week on earth. Must be strong, expressive readers. Will read script from a scroll.

   Jesus Appears in "The Upper Room", "The Garden of Gethsemane", and at the tomb. Will have some speaking parts that are familiar and biblical. Should have strong, expressive voice.
   Priests and King's Men Men who gather in the Marketplace and plot to kill Jesus. Some ad lib dialogue will be necessary. Suggestions will be offered if needed. 
   Disciples Appear in "The Upper Room" and "The Garden of Gethsemane." Men or women may play these roles since costumes will disguise them.
   Guards Appears in "The Garden of Gethsemane" and the tomb scene (both outdoor)
   Mary and Mary Magdalene Play women at the tomb. Some ad lib expressions. Should be expressive and dramatic.
   Angels Play the Angel at the Tomb.
   Supportive Guides Help guide our visitors to the next scene. Assist the narrators in moving the crowd along. No memorized lines, just pleasantries such as "Come this way please..."
For adults, teens, children
   Palm Welcoming Group Wave palms and celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. Individuals and families are welcome to participate in this scene together.
   Merchants and Customers "Buy and sell" wares in the Marketplace. Some ad lib conversations will be needed.
   Mourners Will be at the crucifixion scene. Individuals and families may participate.

 
Ways to help after the event:

Clean up Disassemble the Walk scenes when the event is over and replace materials efficiently. Get the church ready for Sunday services.
